Honda's recent efforts include successfully charging the previous executive board with serious financial misconduct, resulting in the expulsion and sanction of several former officers. He is currently building a rank-and-file group within his union called 1549 For All Members.
In 2024, he was elected to a second term on the DSA's National Labor Commission Steering Committee, where he administers its national labor solidarity fund. Honda is currently studying at the CUNY School of Labor & Urban Studies for his Master's in Labor Studies.
